Ģ1 So get rid of all uncleanness and the rampant outgrowth of wickedness, and in a humble (gentle, modest) spirit receive and welcome the Word which implanted and rooted contains the power to save your souls.Ģ2 But be doers of the Word, and not merely listeners to it, betraying yourselves.

Let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to take offense and to get angry.Ģ0 For man's anger does not promote the righteousness God. ġ8 And it was of His own will that He gave us birth by Word of Truth, so that we should be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.

Do what it says.Ģ3 Those who listen to the word but do not do what it says are like people who look at their faces in a mirrorĢ4 And, after looking at themselves, go away and immediately forget what they look like.Ģ5 But those who look intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continue in it – not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it – they will be blessed in what they do.Ģ6 Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless.ġ2 Blessed (happy, to be envied) is the man who is patient under trial and stands up under temptation, for when he has stood the test and been approved, he will receive crown of life which God has promised to those who love Him.ġ3 Let no one say when he is tempted, I am tempted from God for God is incapable of being tempted by evil and He Himself tempts no one.ġ4 But every person is tempted when he is drawn away, enticed and baited by his own evil desire (lust, passions).ġ5 Then the evil desire, when it has conceived, gives birth to sin, and sin, when it is fully matured, brings forth death.ġ6 Do not be misled, my beloved brethren.ġ7 Every good gift and every perfect (free, large, full) gift is from above it comes down from the Father of all light, in Whom there can be no variation or shadow cast by His turning.

12 Blessed are those who persevere under trial, because when they have stood the test, they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.ġ3 When tempted, no one should say, 'God is tempting me.' For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyoneġ4 But each of you is tempted when you are dragged away by your own evil desire and enticed.ġ5 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.ġ6 Don't be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters.ġ7 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.ġ8 He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.ġ9 My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angryĢ0 Because our anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.Ģ1 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.Ģ2 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves.
